WEEKEND PREVIEW
Radnor Hunt Races
This Saturday, the spotlight's on the Radnor Hunt Cup as we close out the NSA spring season with a bang. The main attractions include the National Hunt Cup, a $35,000 hurdle race and the $25,000 Radnor Hunt Cup for timber horses.
This year, they are celebrating the 93rd edition of the Radnor Hunt Races, set against the scenic backdrop of the Radnor Hunt in Willistown Township, Chester County.
A bit of history for you – the Radnor Hunt is the nation's oldest foxhunt, officially recognized by the Masters of Foxhounds Association of America, founded way back in 1883. The inaugural Radnor Hunt Races kicked off in 1928 at the Chesterbrook, PA estate of A.J. Cassatt.
Except for a brief pause during the war years from 1943-1945, this event has been a consistent highlight. It was George Brooke, II, alongside Morris Dixon, Thomas McCoy, Jr., and George Strawbridge, Sr., who set up the new course at the current Club property right after the war, continuing the legacy.

THE IROQUOUS REVIEW
Snap Decision becomes second three-time winner of the Iroquois Steeplechase

History was made Saturday when Snap Decision became only the second horse to win the Calvin Houghland Iroquois three times in the 2024 race at Percy Warner Park in front of an estimated crowd of 26,000.
The 10-year-old Bruton Street-owned gelding was denied the chance in 2023 to become the first to win the Grade I stakes race three straight times when Scaramanga beat him down the stretch.
But Snap Decision made up for it Saturday claiming the $200,000 purse and beating locally owned Vae Patron in similar fashion to the way he lost last year. The victory matched Uncle Edwin, who won in 1982, 1985 and 1986.
"This one felt three times better," Snap Decision jockey Graham Watters said. "As you get older these things start to get more and more important. This was my first race to ever ride in a Grade I seven years ago and little did I know I'd be coming back to win it three times. It was unbelievable stuff. Snap Decision's a great horse to be a part of. He's American history. He's the best or one of the best steeplechase horses ever in America. He's an absolute hero."
